2,5D Thermoforming with membrane

The process is suitable for processing the following products:

Pressing parameters
Membrane temperature:
Circa 100-110°C
Pressure:
4-5 bar
Printing time:
Preheating (50 - 90 Seconds)
Pressing (30 - 70 Seconds)
Cooling down (20 - 30 Seconds)
Adhesives:
2K-PUR (Dispersion adhesive)
Application:
Spray the dispersion adhesive onto the workpieces. In the profile area, spray twice with a short intermediate drying time.
Note:
Only use silicone membranes

The limited formability of RENOLIT ALKORCELL only allows 2.5D moulding - for example for raised panels on framed doors.

Preparation

The press is opened and the membranes are drawn through a vacuum onto the upper heating plate for heating. The pallet and the workpieces are covered by the film.

Preheating

The press closes and hot compressed air separates the membrane from the heating plate. The film, which is stretched between the positioning frame and the upper spacer frame, is pulled onto the membrane by a vacuum; it continues to be heated by hot air from the upper chamber.

Pressing process

A vacuum is generated in the lower chamber and a simultaneous overpressure in the upper chamber. The membrane presses the film material onto the surface of the workpiece and activates the adhesive.

Cooling down process

After the pressing process, the membrane is separated from the film by cold air and pulled back onto the upper plate by a vacuum, where it is reheated. The press opens and the finished coated workpieces come out.
